Every year the club runs 8 club championship games, 4 Monday games and 4 Wednesday games. These games are run quarterly on the third Wednesday of the month and the following Monday in January, April, July and October (dates are subject to change). At year end there are 6 club championship trophies awarded - Monday 'A', 'B' & 'C' and Wednesday 'A', 'B' & 'C'. In order for a 'B' player to qualify in the 'B' rankings they must play all 3 of their "counting" games with a 'B' or 'C' ranked partner. Similarly 'C' players can only count games played with a 'C' partner. Rankings are determined by taking the best 3 results available (percentage) and averaging them. In other words those who play all 4 games get to "throw out" their lowest score. Those who play 3 games use all 3 of their scores and those who play less than 3 games do not qualify. These are individual trophies, however in the event of a tie (which is often the case with regular partnerships) both players are awarded the trophy. |
