| Solution: Start by
playing the ♠K. East can
obviously not win this trick. West
will have to win the first, second or third spade you play. If West wins the first spade he either has
to return a low spade or a red king.
Either way you are able to win in the north hand a win four tricks;
two spades and your two red aces. If
West ducks the first spade you must discard a low spade from dummy and
continue with the ♠J. Again
West suffers a similar fate and the ♠7 becomes your entry to
dummy. If West waits until the third
round of spades to win his ace then he is left with no choice but to play a
red king and give you the final two tricks. |
