| Solution: Start with the ♦7. If West does not
cover with the ♦K then the ♥4 can be discarded from the north hand and the ♦7 will hold the
trick. This leads to an easy 4 tricks;
one trump, one diamond and two clubs.
West must therefore cover with the ♦K. Declarer's
remedy to this is to trump the ♦K with the ♠6.
Declarer now plays the ♣5 from North down to his ♣K. Declarer can now play the ♦2 (discarding the ♥4), leaving East no
choice but to win this trick and being endplayed into playing a club into
North's ♣AJ tenace. |
